Inaugural Virgin Islands Golden Ball
On July 9, 2022, the Virgin Islands State Grand Assembly and the Virgin Islands Council of Deliberations hosted their first annual "Golden Ball." It was a time for our Scottish Rite com- munity to showcase some of our unsung heroes. Being that this was the first event, it was done in style. It was held at the castle on the island of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. It was a blend of his- tory that incorporated a small amount of culture. Honored that evening were Loyal Lady Chainie Lang - Branigan and Mrs. Jenny M. Perry. Loyal Lady Lang - Brannigan dedicated her life to working with the homeless, those affected by alcohol, substance abuse, mental illness, and their families. She has worked as the Executive Di- rector for St. Croix Mission Outreach since its inception in 2003. Before working with St. Croix Mission Outreach, she held several positions over twelve years with The Village: VI Partners in Recovery. Those positions included the Assistant to the Director of Treatment Services, the Di- rector of the Virgin Islands Victory Partnership, the Director of Community Development and Outreach, and finally, the Vice President of Virgin Islands Programs. Mrs. Jenny M. Perry is the wife of Pastor Reginald Perry, who pastors at Victorious Be- lievers Ministries. Although she stands with grace and fortitude during those moments, Jenny has always been one for the background. She has always found comfort in working behind the scenes without recognition and leading without titles. Currently, Jenny leads W.O.V.E.N. (Women of Virtue, Excellence, and Nobility), the women's ministry at V.B.M. Under her leadership, W.O.V.E.N. has grown exponentially and continues to impact the community and other parts of the world significantly. Whether individually or through her leadership with W.O.V.E.N., Jenny has encouraged and empowered individuals and families through the Angel Tree program. They have delivered gifts to children of parents in prison, made monthly visits to the girl's home for various reasons, and continue to use her life daily to bring change to those around her. She is the epitome of hard work and dedication. She is the definition of leadership with grace and integrity. She is an example of excellence and perseverance to her family, friends, faith community, and anyone who would open their eyes and hearts to see the wisdom and passion of an incredi- bly fantastic soul. The Golden Ball seated 75 people for an intimate setting amongst Fraters, Loyal Ladies, family, and friends. All who attended were by the picturesque views, fantastic dinner, and excel- lent company. we cannot wait to see what the next year brings.
