Starting today, it returns to stand on its head in its natural place on the beach of Tel Aviv- Jaffa and once again make the residents of the city happy”.

T he iconic statue of David Ben-Gurion standing on his head returned to its place this month after it was set on fire last September. The statue, which stands 2.80 meters tall and weighs about 600 kg, was placed between Bogarshov Beach and Frishman Beach in the city. “We promised and it is coming back,” said mayor Ron Huldai.

R ishon Lezion is named “Family Park”. At the same time, in the town of Rishon Lezion, they are currently working on a park that will open in the Alef complex and will cover 95 dunams. An ecological park will be placed in the center of the park and around it visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of green walking paths, bicycle paths and games with the children.

The municipality of Tel Aviv initiated the construction and

placement of the statue in 2016 and it is based on the iconic photo of the first prime minister from 1955 by photojournalist Paul Goldman. The picture shows Ben-Gurion wearing a bathing suit and standing
