My main roles were to look after the company’s accounts and advise managers about the financial implications of business decisions to aid growth and profit. Responsibilities of the job included preparing reports, budgets, commentaries, and financial statements, as well as undertaking financial administration and internal audits. The industrial placement illustrated what working in the accounting and finance field would look like and solidified my ambition to remain in this field. Further, the practical training of software such as Microsoft Excel, along with other transferable skills, will benefit me in my future career.
