Rev. Stephanie Lynn Bevill Rev. Stephanie L. Bevill, is a native Floridian. She is the daughter of the late Frank and Jewell Yearby. Stephanie grew up in the Carver Rancher/West Park community where she presently resides. She began her teaching career in December’1974, after graduating from Southern Illinois University (SIU), in Carbondale, Illinois. She received her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Special Education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities. Later adding, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education and English as A Second Language, (ESOL) to her certification. In 1979 she completed her Master of Science, (M.S.) degree in Administration and Supervision, and began her postgraduate studies at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Stephanie worked thirty-nine years in various capacities for the School Board of Broward County including Teacher, Educational Supervisor, Curriculum Supervisor and Early Childhood Trainer and Consultant. She served as an Assistant Principal and concluded her last seven years as an Elementary School Principal in Broward County. Rev. Bevill call into ministry was birthed in her childhood church in 1995, (Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ, Opa Locka, Fl). She became a member of St. Paul AME/Miami in 2007 and was ordained an Itinerant Deacon in the South Annual Conference in 2014. She began her Master of Divinity work at Knox Theological Seminary, Fort Lauderdale, hoping to complete it in the near future. Rev. Bevill characterizes her preaching as clear and simple, giving the people what God has given her. She proclaims the word of God with power and authority through the Holy Ghost. On May 1, 2012, Stephanie retired from the School Board of Broward County after 39 years of service. She is still passionately committed and dedicated her service to the students, families and communities of Broward County, teaching, praying and instructing, every chance she receives. Rev. Bevill was married to James Leon Bevill with 2 adult children, Patrice Bevill Flowers- Edmondson and James Bevill Jr. 2 grandchildren, (Summer and Antonio). and a great granddaughter Autumn. Stephanie is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated receiving her fifty-year pin in 2023. She challenges herself daily believing, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).
