Dr. Tracy D. Jackson was born the youngest of six to the Late Edward, Sr. and Reva P. Desmore, in Ocala, Florida, but raised in Daytona Beach, Florida. In Daytona she attended Volusia County Public Schools, graduating from Mainland Senior High School as a student-athlete in 1987. She then matriculated to Daytona Beach Community College and extended her education at the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University with a bachelor’s degree in English education in 1992, followed by a master’s degree in educational leadership in 1999 from Stetson University, and a doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in May 2015. As an educator of 31 years, Dr. Jackson has been blessed to serve in the classroom and as an administrator at the Elementary, Middle, High, and District levels by way of public-school districts in Volusia, Seminole, and Broward counties. Currently, she serves as the Proud Principal of Collins Elementary in Dania, Florida, for Broward County Public Schools. Affectionately known as “Dr. Tracy” at Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Miami, this Leading Lady remains active in ministry as a youth and women’s ministry consultant, a member of the Women’s Missionary Society, and choir member. She is Dean for the Emerging Leaders Institute which comprises of young women leaders in Women’s Missionary Society for the Eleventh Episcopal District. As a Woman of God who understands purpose, she has delivered stirring messages, written inspirational plays, coordinated several Christmas and Easter productions, and is the founder of the SPC Renew Women’s Conference. Dr. Jackson is also an active member of the South Broward Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. While Dr. Tracy is gratefully humble for the opportunity to serve God’s people, she believes that her greatest legacy is the love and care that she offers to her husband of 30 years, the Reverend Dr. Robert Jackson, III, and their two beautiful daughters, Deja Simone and Sydney Elizabeth, both of whom are Delta Legacies. Lady Dr. Tracy believes in the power of prayer and that we are all God’s disciples created to serve others, but if you do not offer service to the people whom God has made you ultimately responsible for as a wife and a mother, then your witness outside of the home is in vain. Her favorite scripture is Psalm 27.
