someone has paid the fine for you. Case dismissed!” You see, in essence, this is what the Bible teaches that God did for us. When we stood condemned, without hope, rightly deserving judgment and eternal separation from God, God took off His robe of deity, so to speak, put on a robe of humanity and became a man in the person of Jesus. [See: Philippians 2:6-11.] Then, out of love, He died for us on the cross to pay a fine we could never pay, which is “death.” [See: Isaiah 53:4-6,11; Romans 3:23; 5:6-8; 6:23]. Allow me to highligh t some of the Bible’s teachings about God and how we can have a restored relationship with Him. According to scripture, not only did God create us, He loves us with a love we cannot fathom. We were created to have intimate fellowship with God. Scripture also teaches that God is infinitely holy.
