humbly confess our sin and admit our need for a Savior. According to scripture, Jesus is the only way to God and our only hope of forgiveness [John 14:6; Acts 4:12; I Timothy 2:7]. Because God loves us, Jesus willingly died in our place to pay the penalty for your sins and mine [Romans 5:8], just as the judge paid the fine for the woman in his courtroom. Yes, we should feel sorry for our sin, but more importantly, we must “ repent of our sins ” [Matthew 4:17]. Repent carries with it the idea of turning from sin, giving it up. In Luke 13:3 Jesus said, “…unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” In other words, if you are going down a one-way street the wrong direction, away from God, you need to turn around and begin moving toward God. Another way of putting it: you must be willing to get out of the driver’s seat, so to speak, and invite Jesus to take control of your life. He can turn your life around and get you headed in the right direction. If you only knew how much God
