burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead [I Corinthians 15:3-8]. Grace means receiving something good that we don’t deserve. According to scripture, Jesus is both God and man. He has two natures: one human and the other God [Philippians 2:6,7; Romans 1:3,4]. If we accept His offer of forgiveness through Jesus’ death on the cross, when we stand before God as Judge, we will be standing before the very One who loved us and paid the fine for us: “Case dismissed! Your sins will never be counted against you.” [Isaiah 1:18; Romans 4:7,8; Romans 8:1; Psalm 103:11,12] Since we are weak and rather powerless when it comes to overcoming sin, when we receive Christ, Jesus comes to live within us through His Holy Spirit to empower us to live the Christian life.
