The question is whether you are open to being shown. After all, no amount of believing can bring God into existence if God does not exist, nor can any amount of doubt destroy God if God does exist. You should not believe in God because it will make you feel good, although it will, but because belief in God is a matter of truth . It has nothing to do with sincerity or having good feelings. As a child I believed in Santa Claus. It certainly made me feel good, and I was quite sincere in my beliefs. However, I was sincerely wrong.
