Most Muslims are taught that Judas, who betrayed Jesus, was actually cr ucified in Jesus’s place. Surah 4:157 in the Qur’an says, “They say, ‘We killed Christ...but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear...” In contrast to the Bible, the Qur’an has no prophecies to authenticate its claim of inspiration. All it has is the claims of one man, Muhammad, who says it is inspired. So how are we to know Muhammad was telling the truth? A Muslim may reply, “Because the Qur’an says so.” In logic, this is called circular reasoning: A proves B, and B proves A. There are no outside proofs given to support either claim. And, those who dared question Muhammad were not met with reason and historical evidence, as with Christianity, but rather skeptics were told to believe or else they would be killed by being beheaded, crucified, or
