4. Fourth, is the trustworthiness of the eyewitnesses . If you can’t trust them, you might as well throw out the first three pieces of evidence. According to church history Peter was crucified upside down. You can read about the immense suffering the apostle Paul went through for his faith in II Corinthians 11:23-30. After suffering in a Roman prison Paul was beheaded. Would you knowingly suffer and die for a lie? Wouldn’t you recant to save your life? Further, they passed on to the world its highest moral and ethical teachings. Does it make sense to believe that these teachings were knowingly founded upon lies?
