fulfilled concerning Jesus' “second coming” to earth. According to the Bible , God will not let sin and evil go on forever. A day will come when Jesus returns and sets up His earthly kingdom. I love what C.S. Lewis wrote in his classic book, Mere Christianity , “When the Author walks onto the stage, the play is over.” Jesus said that no one would know the exact day or hour of His return, yet He did say that we could know His return was getting close when we begin to see certain signs which He spells out in Matthew 24:4-35 and Luke 21:29-36. If you went to a theater to see a live performance of a play that you had seen before, and you happened to arrive late, you could tell just by looking at the props on stage, what act was coming next. The same is true about the Lord’s return. The Bible is very clear concerning the major props that must be in place when Christ returns.
