Michael and his wife, Claudia, who is originally from Guatemala, have three children: George (married to Donielle), Katina, and Giselle. Michael and Claudia live in Midland, Michigan, but their hearts extend far beyond. They actively support missionary work in Guatemala, including financially supporting a Word of Life missionary couple and helping fund the Medical Center Project, where staff and volunteers will be able to serve both the spiritual and physical needs of their local commu- nity in Guatemala. Their love for global ministry and passion for the gospel continue to reflect the foun- dation that was laid decades ago at the Bible Insti- tute. Michael and Claudia encountered Word of Life in a new way six years ago. Due to some medical chal- lenges, they were looking for a way for Claudia to spend part of the winter in Florida. After learning that the Florida Bible Institute location had RV sites, they were able to place their camper there and join the Word of Life Palm Grove community. Claudia now spends two to
When asked what advice he would give to current or prospective students, Michael urges them to stay engaged with their community and absorb as much knowledge as possible. Given that we live in an age where we’re glued to our phones and screens, Michael encourages students to prioritize living and learning face-to-face. His encourage- ment resonates with his own story – one shaped by genuine relationships, deep biblical study, and a heart surrendered to Christ, ensuring that every- thing he does is marked by excellence. Today, Michael and Claudia continue to cham- pion the mission of Word of Life. “We love this ministry and are so happy to see it thriving around the world,” he says. Through their generosity, leadership, and unwavering faith, the Goads are an example of lives anchored in truth, lived with purpose, and stewarded for God’s glory.
