Trauma in African American Women and Children

African American women and children have historically faced various forms of trauma, ranging from the legacy of slavery and segre- gation to present-day racial discrimination and microaggressions. These experiences can lead to a complex trauma response that impacts emotional, physical, and psycholog- ical well-being. Intersectionality and Trauma Intersectionality, the overlapping of multiple marginalized identities, plays a critical role in understanding trauma.
