Fatal ATV accident

La Sûreté du Québec is investigating an all-terrain vehicle accident that claimed the

life of a 23-year-old Treadwell man in Harrington Township last Friday.

October 29, at about 3:45 p.m. the MRC d’Argenteuil detachment was alerted by a

woman that an ATV operator had plunged into the Maskinongé River. While emergency

services were dispatched, citizens managed to pull the man from the water and attempted

to revive him. When ambulance attendants arrived, the victim was transported to the

Hawkesbury and District General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.The cause of

the accident is under investigation, says Sergeant Gilles Mitchell.
