Students from across the region came together last month to participate in the annual

campaign to raise awareness of child abuse.

The Valoris for Children and Adults of Prescott-Russell agency underlined the support

of students, teachers and community members who joined staff in making the Purple Day

Campaigna success. ThroughoutOctober,messagesweredistributed to raise awareness of

child abuse prevention. The highlight of the campaignwas October 20 when the schools of

Prescott-Russellwere filledwithstudentsandstaff sportingpurpleclothingandaccessories

as a way to show that they would not tolerate child abuse. Many schools made signs and

had discussions on the topic in an effort to help the students and staff to understand how

to act toprevent harmto children. Four schools participatedbywearingpurple clothes and

formingahumanchain in the shapeof a ribbon to showtheirunity inputtinganend tochild

abuse. In Vankleek Hill, students and staff of Pleasant Corners Public School formed a

ribbon in the gymnasium while in Plantagenet, students and staff of l’ École secondaire

catholique were joined by Valoris staff to fashion the symbol.

Dans le but de poursuivre son expansion, Le Groupe JLD, concessionnaires John Deere, vient d’acquérir le territoire de Curran Farm Equipment, à Curran. Le déménagement de ce concessionnaire est prévu pour janvier 2012, dans une toute nouvelle bâtisse sur un immense terrain en bordure de l’autoroute 417.
