Missions and Bible Conferences This issue of THE KING’S BUSINESS is called the “Missionary and Bible Con ference Number.” Obviously, the brief editorial comments that are provided in these columns cannot call attention to all the missions or all of the conferences that are worthy of the Christian’s interest. May this limited list, selected as it is from among KING’S BUSINESS advertisers, serve to increase the fellowship of the Lord’s people among ALL those—at home and on foreign fields—^who “preach Christ crucified.”

THE JEWS NEED EHRIST! W ill you help proclaim Him in this day of greatly increasing interest in His Messianic claims? Never have the opportunities seemed so great and so mani fold to make Him known Who "died for our sins . . . and rose again, according to the Scriptures." The NEW YORK GOSPEL MISSION TO THE JEW S, INC., a long established ministry founded by the late Rev. and Mrs. Bernhard Angel is bearing a fruitful witness through its Gospel activities. Triumphs of the Cross in Jewish hearts and lives are recorded in our monthly letter. FR EE ON REQUEST. Address MISS RUTH ANGEL, Director P. O. Box 108, Station D, New York City

branches are maintained in the larger cities as the Lord provides means and workers. Abroad, sta tions are maintained in Paris, Warsaw, and Jeru salem. The magazine, “The Chosen People,” which is loved by many Bible students for its help ful information on prophecy and the Jews, is sent to all contributors. TH E BOLIVIAN INDIAN M ISSION , with headquarters at Casilla 86, Cochabamba, Bolivia, is thoroughly evangelical and interdenominational. In relation to other evangelical societies, its prin ciple is one of cooperation, not competition. In a recent issue of “The Bolivian Indian,” the Mis sion’s bi-monthly magazine, twenty-three mission stations are named, and sixty-six missionaries listed. Refusing to go into debt, the Mission guarantees no fixed amount to its representatives; the ministry is supported by freewill offerings. The home office is at 113 Fulton St., New York, N. Y. TH E CANADIAN SUNDAY SCHOOL M IS SION, with headquarters at 103 Furby Street, Winnipeg, Man., Canada, was organized in 192/ to carry the gospel to the “otherwise unreached” districts in rural Western Canada. Work is now carried on in Northwest Ontario, Manitoba, Sas katchewan, and Alberta. The Mission conducts annual Bible memory contests, summer Bible schools, a Bible correspond ence course, radio broadcasts, organizes prayer meetings and young people’s meetings, holds special evangelistic meetings, visits the homes, dis tributes Bibles, Testaments, and gospel literature. At one summer camp in Manitoba, twelve national ities were represented. It is the aim of the Mission to evangelize the children and youth before their hearts are hardened in sin. When won for Christ, these young people are earnest “missionaries.” A number have started Sunday-schools themselves under the supervision of the Mission. Katherine - ■ has a Sunday-school of fifty, and it has continued through the rigors of a Western Canada winter. Prayer is asked that the Mission may be enabled to conduct at least 350 Summer Bible schools in 1939 (there were 251 held in 1938). The field is “white unto harvest.” TH E CENTRAL AMERICAN M ISSION was founded in 1890 by the late C. I. Scofield. Its purpose is to “preach the gospel to every creature” in Central America. It is undenominational in character, and now has more than eighty American missionaries under appointment, about 130 native pastors and evangelists, and more than 500 congre gations. The Mission labors in the republics of Guatemala, Honduras, Salvador, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica, where the total population is about six millions. The work is supported by the free will offerings of the Lord’s people. For a sample copy of the “Central American Bulletin,” a bi monthly magazine published by the Mission, or for other information, address: Central American Mission, 3611 Congress Ave., Dallas, Tex. TH E NORTHWEST MOUNTAIN MISSION, with headquarters at Payette, Idaho, is now in its fourth year of “practical and continuous evangel ism.” It ministers to prospectors, miners, cattle men, forest service employees, and many others. The Mission’s first chapel, now under construction, will he the only Protestant meeting place in 150 miles of highway. For literature, address Carlos D. Bradley, Supt., Payette, Idaho. TH E ORINOCO RIVER M ISSION is a faith mission, established by Van V. Eddings in 1929 in Venezuela, South America. At present, there are twenty-nine workers giving their full time as missionaries. Under the blessing of the Lord, the work in Venezuela has grown remarkably. At the last Bible conference held this year, one thousand in one city alone gathered and listened to the preaching of the gospel. TH E AMERICAN BOARD OF MISSIONS TO TH E JEW S, 31 Throop Ave., Brooklyn, N.Y., is “reaching a world Jewry with the gospel testi mony.” The Mission’s field of service includes not only the 2,000,000 Jews of New#York, and not only the 4,000,000 Jews of America, but also,_ to a degree, the Jews of all the world. In America,

DID YOU KNOW THAT IN 1890 Dr. C. L SCOFIELD

founded a Mission for the evangelization of Central America, and upon lines which he believed to be Biblical? This Mission continues to labor toward that end. Your Church, Sunday School, or Bible class ought to know about this work. Send for free literature and information. CENTRAL AMERICAN MISSION 3611 Congress Ave. Dallas, Texas

Please Give Us Bread and Clothing Soul-stirring appeals are constantly coming to our office from the suffering Russian believers. Hungry and almost nude they stretch out their hands to us, pleading for help. For several years we have been helping them— saving them from hunger and cold. Every month our list of destitute Christian families increases. All the letters we receive contain the same petition: “Please give us bread and clothing.” Our precious Saviour says: “Give ye them to eat” (Mark 6 :3 7 ). Alone, without the help of other more fortunate Christians, we are not able to meet all the requests. We urge you, dear friend, in the Master's name, “while it is day," to unite with us in helping the weary, hungry and suffering children of God. Remember the other words of the Lord: “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matthew 2 5 :4 0 ). Send your gifts large or small to: RUSSIAN CHRISTIAN RELIEF SOCIETY ROOM 506 K, 690 EIGHTH AVENUE NEW YORK CITY Rev. PETER PLESHKO, General D irector
