Ivetsey Hospital
Working within a live specialist mental healthcare facility, OA delivered the comprehensive refurbishment and reconfiguration of existing accommodation to create modern clinical and residential environments. Careful phasing and coordination ensured the continued safe operation of the hospital throughout the works, with construction activities planned to minimise disruption to patients, staff and day-to-day care provision. The scheme involved extensive internal strip-out, structural alterations and the reorganisation of bedrooms, en-suite facilities, clinical spaces and staff areas to improve functionality and patient experience. New partitions, finishes and specialist doorsets were introduced throughout, alongside anti-ligature fixtures, secure windows and enhanced safety measures designed specifically for mental healthcare settings. A strong emphasis was placed on durability, hygiene and long-term operational performance. Robust wall linings, specialist flooring systems and bespoke joinery were integrated throughout the building, while mechanical and electrical systems were comprehensively upgraded, including ventilation, lighting, fire safety, nurse call and access control systems. The completed refurbishment delivers a safer, more efficient and future- ready healthcare environment that supports both patient wellbeing and staff operations, while extending the lifespan and performance of the existing facility.
