PRIVATE HOMES SEN SCHOOLS
SEN Schools
We have extensive experience delivering specialist environments for children and young people with additional educational needs, working across both new-build and refurbishment projects to create spaces that are supportive, adaptable and inclusive. Our work in SEN education spans a wide range of requirements - including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism spectrum conditions and high- anxiety environments - where the design of space plays a critical role in wellbeing, engagement and learning outcomes. Across projects such as iCollege in West Berkshire, the new-build campus at Manor Green School, and the transformation of existing buildings at Valley Bridge School and Castle @ Theale (pictured), our approach is consistently centred on the individual. Classrooms are carefully scaled, with access to quiet and breakout spaces, strong connections to outdoor learning areas, and clear, legible layouts that reduce anxiety and support routine. Material choices, colour palettes and environmental strategies are all considered in detail to create calm, robust and non-institutional settings. Whether delivering purpose-built facilities or adapting historic and existing buildings, we focus on creating environments that balance durability with comfort, and structure with flexibility. The result is a series of tailored learning environments that not only meet complex educational needs, but enable pupils to feel safe, supported and able to thrive.
