Rogers TV, Offering Local News by Peri Hayes

Jeremy Parking, Regional Manager for Rogers TV across Ontario, discusses the launch of their latest program. Jeremy oversees the operations within the Southwestern Ontario market, including St. Thomas, Strathroy, Tillsonburg and Woodstock. He has been working with a dedicated team of staff to develop this community news television being brought to the region. As Jeremy earnestly expresses, “We feel that community news — and that which affects our region — is extremely important to our viewers. This is us doing our part to keep the issues at the forefront for our viewers and residents, shining a light on decisions that are directly impacting our region during this time.” The team has been diligently working on the preparation of this program since September of last year, and is in celebratory spirits to have brought their planning process to fruition on April 9th. Detailing this resource, Jeremy describes, “This is the weekly coverage of community news within the Southwest Ontario zone that we take care of, so it will be a weekly show about 10 minutes in length and will focus on the various Councils within our communities. We will be taking a look at an array of decisions and what this means for residents, keeping them informed as the priority.” “What really excites us about this local initiative is that we will be providing our viewers with weekly coverage of the issues and topics that directly affect their day-to-day lives. The benefit

of this program will be the local aspect which this initiative will be covering,” Jeremy passionately voices. “Rogers TV is focused on local, because local matters. We will be honing in on stories that are directly within our market, engaging our residents and those making the decisions on these various issues impacting St. Thomas, Strathroy, Tillsonburg and Woodstock.” This program premiered on the local community channel, being Channel 13 in this zone, on April 9th at 5:00 pm. Thereafter, this feature will air on a daily basis at 12:30 pm, 5:00 pm and 9:30 pm. Each week, the up-to-date program will be released on Wednesday at 5:00 pm.
