Winckowski made two appearances for Worcester this season before getting called-up to Boston on April 8th. Originally selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 15th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, Josh was traded twice in a span of 15 days in 2021 going from Toronto to the New York Mets on January 27, 2021 and then from the Mets to the Red Sox on February 10, 2021 (as part of a three-team deal that sent Andrew Benintendi to the Royals). From 2022-24, Josh has made 115 appearances for the Red Sox including a team- high 60 (59 in relief) in 2023. Born in Toledo, OH, “Wink” grew up in Fort Myers, FL and attended Red Sox spring training games at JetBlue Park as a teenager.
