Harris was selected by the Red Sox from the New York Mets in the Tri- ple-A phase of the 2024 Rule 5 Draft. He has pitched in the Yankees, Blue Jays, Brewers, Nationals, and Twins organization and made Wash- ington’s 2023 Opening Day roster (appearing in 16 games for the Nationals that year). His full name is Robert William Harris, Jr. and he is nicknamed “Hobie” after the Hobie Cat sailing catamaran once owned by his grandfather and father.
