Hernandez rejoined the Red Sox organization on July 18, 2025 when he signed a Minor League free agent con- tract and reported to Worcester. He began this season with Scranton/Wil- kes-Barre (AAA-Yankees) before being released on July 4th. The 27-year-old was a popular player for the WooSox from 2021 – 2023. He was Worcester’s regular catcher in both 2022 (.261/17/63 in 105 games) and 2023 (.242/17/70 in 99 games). He signed with the Dia- mondbacks prior to the 2024 season and had another solid year for Triple-A Reno (.311/11/36). Ronaldo, nicknamed, Oso, came to Boston along with Nick Sogard in a trade from Tampa Bay on February 17, 2021 for Red Sox pitchers Jeffrey Springs and Chris Mazza.
