Alex made his Triple-A debut with the WooSox in May of 2025. He was with Double-A Portland all of 2024 going 4-5 with a 5.43 ERA and 4 SV in 36 relief appearances (5th most among Red Sox minor league pitchers). Hoppe, an Iowa native, was Boston’s 6th round choice in the 2022 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of North Carolina at Greens- boro. Baseball America has tabbed him with the Best Slider in the Red Sox system and he topped out at 101 MPH during an outing in 2024.
