MAY COMMUNITY UPDATES
Please be aware that only vehicles fitted with a Tonto Verde transponder will have access to the park. Currently, gate codes are not available to ensure that this amenity remains exclusive for members. Entrance Gate Hours The entrance gate to the park will be operable from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily if you have a transponder on your vehicle. Given the limited parking available at the park, we kindly ask that any guests accompany you in your vehicle.
We are thrilled to announce a number of significant updates for the community as we transition into the summer season: GRAND OPENING – COMMUNITY PARK VEHICLE ENTRANCE The new vehicle entrance gate to the Tonto Verde Community Park officially opens on May 1st! This gate operates with the same transponder that grants access to both the East and West gates of our community.

MARICOPA COUNTY VACATION CRIME WATCH PROGRAM
On April 17, I sent out a notice announcing that our Security Committee has arranged for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) to once again this year provide Tonto Verde residents with complimentary Vacation Crime Watch Program services. Last year, 72 Tonto residents completed and submitted an application form, participating in this excellent MCSO service. There is still time to sign up. Click the application link here and email the completed form to aandrews@tontoverde.com. Or, go to our community website under the HOA tab/“Community Security” to obtain the form. The Sheriff’s Office informs us that their “Posse” officers will begin patrol services in late May. It is important to remember that each application must be renewed every 30 days by calling the Sheriff’s Office at 602.876.1869.
FOOD & BEVERAGE SUMMER HOURS ANNOUCEMENT
Beginning May 5th, the Mesquite Grill and Bar will transition to summer operating hours, open from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday through Sunday. Please take note of the following: The Snack Shacks and Scoreboard Bar will close for the season on May 6th. A self-service convenience cooler, stocked with cold beverages, snacks, and ice cream treats, will be located in the banquet hallway next to the restrooms.
SUMMER MENUS DEBUT
TVA OFFICE SUMMER HOURS Starting the week of May 5th, the Administration Office will adopt summer hours, operating from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday.

FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER . . .
LEAVING FOR THE SUMMER? If you’re leaving for a couple of weeks or for a few months, please take the time to review the following: Contact Information: Contact the Association Office at 480.471.2582 to update your summer contact information. Be sure the Office knows how to contact you in an emergency. If your away contact information has NOT changed from last year, then there is no need to contact the office. House Watcher & Landscaper Information: Contact the Association Office with the name and phone number of both your house watcher and landscaper if changed from last year. Ask your house watchers to let you know immediately if they notice weeds, fruit, water, irrigation, or other problems. With their cooperation, problems can be solved quickly. Yard Maintenance: Work out a plan for regular maintenance with your landscaper to prevent unsightly growth while you are gone. See the Landscaper To-Do List. Be sure to ask your landscaper to maintain your property while you are gone. Here’s a landscaper’s to-do list: CLUBHOUSE TRASH COMPACTOR USE REMINDER This is a friendly reminder that the Trash Compactor located at the loading dock below the clubhouse is reserved solely for household waste. Please inform your remodeling contractors and landscapers that they are not allowed to use the dumpsters. Landscape materials can cause jams, resulting in malfunctions. Also, please do not leave items on the ground outside the dumpsters, as Republic Services drivers will not pick them up. EVENT UPDATE – MAY 1ST MIX AND MINGLE We would like to inform you that the Mix and Mingle event planned for today, May 1st, has unfortunately been canceled. We appreciate your understanding and eagerly anticipate seeing everyone at upcoming gatherings.
Pick up fruit that attracts pack rats, javelinas, and other wildlife and pests. Rake up leaves and other plant debris. Check for weeds and other unwanted plants and remove them. Watch for beehives. Set the irrigation timer to the correct frequency and watering depth. Be sure the TVA has the name of your landscaper in case an issue arises. Instructions for Your Landscapers: Lock Boxes: The Rio Verde Fire District encourages all residents to purchase a secure Lock Box for use in case of an emergency. For payment and installation information, call the Fire District at 480.471.2304. Thank you for your continued support, and we wish everyone a safe and enjoyable summer Andy

A Letter... FROM THE TVA BOARD PRESIDENT
Susan Warzecka
The Board welcomes your feedback. Susan Warzecka - Board President Liaison to HR Committee
As Bill Reimer reviewed at the Annual Meeting, your Board will be updating the strategic plan and aligning that plan with our long-term financial plan. We will be conducting town halls this fall to share that work and get input from the community. First, I’d like to welcome our newly elected members of the Tonto Verde Association Board of Directors, Dick Dugan and Julie Varda. Dick is also our newly elected Treasurer and brings valuable financial expertise that will help us continue our tradition of maintaining financial strength for Tonto Verde. Julie has an outstanding background in advertising and public relations. She has already contributed much to our community and will have an opportunity to help us even more. The Board will continue to work with Andy Andrews, our General Manager, and his team to enhance our F&B operations. We will work over the summer months to improve staffing and training so that we can deliver a better, more consistent experience for our members. Our search for a new Executive Chef continues. Please know that we are always looking for and welcome members of the community to get involved in our committees. I strongly believe that having many residents actively involved in our committees makes us better and stronger. We have always been fortunate to have many talented individuals living in Tonto Verde. KIDS’ ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT
Our Volunteers Make All The Difference!
THERE’S NOTHING QUITE LIKE SHARING A HEARTY LAUGH…
Friends and neighbors came together at the Club to enjoy the Stand-Up Comedy Show featuring comic Bobby Tessel. Tessel casually strolls up to the microphone as if walking into his living room. He raises his hand to give a slight wave to the crowd as he utters one word, “hi”. The audience responds immediately with laughter. Within seconds of his arrival on stage, he has captured the crowd and squired them away into an atmosphere of comfort. For the next hour, Tessel rattles off joke after joke for his attentive throng. Moving from subject to subject, his coolness belies the tangential state of topics. There was plenty of laughter, friendly teasing, and a strong sense of camaraderie.
VERDES HABITAT FOR HUMANITY We’re making a difference, one build at a time.
The Verdes volunteer team has successfully completed the 29th Habitat house. A dedicated group of 35 volunteers built the house over 15 workdays. Thank you to everyone involved! We have reached our funding goal of $130,000. As additional donations come in, these funds will be securely invested to cover any future cost overruns and the increasing price of materials. A heartfelt letter from the recipient family: We are immensely thankful for being chosen and for the time, love, and effort that each of you dedicated to building our home. Working alongside you was a truly special experience. You have helped lay the foundation for our future, and we will cherish this experience forever. You all have the remarkable ability to make dreams come true. With love
and deep appreciation, the Zamora Family. A message from Habitat Central AZ:
Zamora Family
Congratulations on yet another remarkable home completed by the Verdes team. We are incredibly grateful for our longstanding partnership and eagerly anticipate collaborating on Build #30. The Fall campaign will commemorate the Verdes Habitat project’s 30th consecutive home build, and all donations received during the summer will contribute towards house #30. Thank you to everyone who builds and donates. Brick by brick, heart by heart, countless lives are transformed because of your compassion. 7 | COMMUNITY NEWS

SPRING BLOOD DRIVE - THANK YOU! A heartfelt thank you to everyone in the Verdes community who participated in the Rotary Club of the Verdes/Vitalant Spring Blood Drive on March 25, 2025, at the Rio Verde Community Center. Our goal was to conduct 62 procedures and gather 71 blood units. Thanks to the community's generosity and the efforts of Joan Nerz and her team, we successfully executed 70 procedures and collected 85 blood units from 86 donors. It's important to remember that one in seven hospital admissions requires a blood transfusion, making your contributions vital. We aim to surpass these numbers at our next Blood Drive. “It’s reassuring to know that creative solutions are available to meet our needs while aging in place. You were right; aging in place is for people of all ages.” “We appreciated your insight that aging in place requires more than just good intentions. It should involve a process that includes personal reflection, discussions with loved ones, intentional planning, and proactive steps to remain in our homes.” “We thought we had everything figured out, but you reminded us of the importance of organizing key documents, such as legal and health information, and sharing them with essential people so they know how to access them. We hadn’t done that yet, but we plan to thank you for your time, expertise, and care.” “Thank you for visiting us and conducting the Home Safety Assessment. We thought we had addressed all our concerns, but we truly value your additional safety tips.”
For More Information To volunteer or for more information about the services available to you, please contact your VerdeCares Office at 480.471.8944. Our office hours are 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday and 24/7 availability by calling 480.471.8944.
