Our progress and your generosity make this report an enormous expression of gratitude to the many friends and partners who have joined in this journey of success. The milestones we have reached in our journey of achievement provide a profound proof that a university dedicated to academic excellence, illumined by the light of faith, is a powerful force for good and attracts an ever-growing student body and supporters and friends like you. Our commitment to growing this great Catholic university has attracted many outstanding leaders who have shown, once and again, their courage to venture with us through the choppy economic, cultural, social, demographic, and technological waters of our times. It is powerfully edifying to serve with so many wonderful trustees, faculty, staff, donors, and friends to achieve the terrific progress chronicled in this report. The manner in which we live up to the standards established by the Sisters of St. Francis of Oldenburg brings all of us much joy, and a sense of fidelity to those to whom we owe so much. One major and mighty milestone we reached in Marian University’s progress is that our doctoral education, research, and enrollment growth has placed us in the Carnegie Classification as a Doctoral/Professional University. The Carnegie Classification puts Marian in a group of 423 top universities in the nation. These classifications are used by researchers, policymakers, and administrators, and inform grant-making and research opportunities. Simply stated, Marian University is among the leading universities in the United States of America – this is a big deal! The Carnegie Classification and the many dramatic developments that we have experienced are the fruits of much prayer, a commitment to academic excellence, and the tremendous generosity of many alumni and friends of Marian. All these achievements documented in this, and past annual reports, are only possible because of our unflagging commitment to serve our students well and ensure that we fulfill the Marian Promise.
