GIVING SOCIETIES | 1851 SOCIETY The 1851 Society recognizes individuals and businesses who have contributed significantly to Marian University through cumulative lifetime giving of $100,000 or more (excluding pledges and bequests). In 1851, Mother Theresa Hackelmeier had the courage to venture to Oldenburg, Indiana and, with the Sisters of St. Francis, founded and invested in the success of Marian University with a vision to prepare transformative leaders to serve the world. In similar fashion, members of the 1851 Society have invested significantly in the success of Marian through their lifetime charitable contributions.
