2021 Founder’s Classic The Founder’s Classic has been chaired by Tom McNulty and Jamy Brase since the inaugural event in 2019. And, each year, the event honors individuals or a group who helped make the university what it is today. The Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Indiana moved Marian College to Indianapolis in 1937 and laid the foundation of Franciscan sponsorship values that guides Marian University today. This remarkable group of women have ministered to thousands of students throughout the Midwest and beyond. Through the efforts of Tom McNulty and Jamy Brase, and the many sponsors and attendees, the Founder’s Classic raised $165,000 in scholarship support to honor Jack Snyder and the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Indiana. The 2021 Founders Classic Honoree and Emeritus Board Chair, Jack Snyder, receives a blessing from the Sisters of St. Francis Oldenburg. At Jack’s request, proceeds from the 2021 Founders Classic were utilized to support the Sisters Legacy Fund. A special thanks to Tom McNulty and Jamy Brase who continue to serve as co-chairs of the Founders Classic. 13th Annual Clayton Family Circle of Honor Induction Dinner On April 27, 2022, Marian University’s 13th Annual Clayton Family Circle of Honor Award selected Anthony “A.C.” Calhoun to its top award and recognized long-time Marian University Cycling Coach Dean Peterson with its Wall of Fame award. “To be recognized in this way is a real honor, Peterson said. “It gives me great joy to not only assist the student-athletes academically but also give them support and coaching to achieve their cycling goals and team connection.” “This is such an honor to be recognized by Marian University in this way,” Anthony Calhoun said. “I am really humbled since I have a heart for students and highlighting their academic and sporting success.” The 2022 Clayton Family Circle of Honor Induction Dinner raised over $441,600 to support Marian athletics.
