andrea and chase bonded on myspace more than 12 years ago over a disagreement about football great Tom Brady. Andrea, a native of Beckley, called out Chase, originally from Fayetteville, for his opinion about the sports star, and eight years later, he asked her to be his wife. The couple went to Nashville to visit friends before Andrea was set to begin graduate school in Austin, Texas. A surprise proposal with the ring of her dreams during their stay there sealed their fate. They began planning an outdoor ceremony and chose The Addison Grove in Austin as the location. Special musical selections were chosen to accompany each of their mothers down the aisle, and the bride, escorted by her father, chose “Murder in the City” by The Avett Brothers for her walk to the altar. She wore an ivory-colored tulle over satin gown with a sleeveless illusion neckline and asymmetrical floral threadwork on the embroidered bodice. A shirt pocket from her late grandfather, who had died on her 24th birthday, was sewn into the dress. Her bouquet of peach, white, and coral-colored flowers with thistle blue and hypericum berries was wrapped with a sleeve cut from her mother’s wedding dress and had her great grandmother’s brooch attached. The couple exchanged traditional vows before joining family and friends at a reception with specialty cocktails, soul food appetizers like shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles, and a family-style dinner of brisket, smoked chicken, twice-baked potatoes, broccoli casserole made with the bride’s recipe, and roasted root vegetables. Guests danced the night away before joining the couple for a traditional West Virginia “Take Me Home, Country Roads” send-off. Following a wedding trip to Bora Bora, Andrea and Chase returned home to Houston, where she works as an occupational therapist and he in business development for an oil and gas company.
