after 16 years of engagement bliss, Belington native Clarrissa and Eddie said their “I do’s.” The couple grew up in Barbour County and met through the bride’s grandmother, Rose McDonald Shaver. Grandma Rose and the groom’s father, Edward, had been a couple for more than 25 years. Eddie was born and raised on the Paugh farm near Philippi, and it’s where he has lived his entire life. It was fitting, then, that it would become the setting for their big day. For the ceremony, the bride wore a white, full-length, boho-style chiffon and lace wedding dress. The three-tiered, butterfly-themed wedding cake was showcased on a wooden pedestal made from a maple tree grown on the Paugh farm. The bride and wedding party wore jewelry handcrafted by Buzy Beadz by Cindy Clary, a Barbour County jewelry artist. The bride, bridesmaids, mothers, mothers-in-law, and grandmothers wore pale yellow pearls separated by and accented with tiny Swarovski crystals. The bride carried a Paugh farm–inspired bouquet with a mix of multi-colored butterflies and wildflowers. At sunset, the wedding pathway was illuminated with paper lanterns that led the bride and her attendants to a four-tiered gazebo for the ceremony. The couple honeymooned in a tree-top cabin in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and lives on the Paugh farm near Philippi, where Eddie works as a heavy equipment operator and Clarrissa as a freelance caterer.
