JENI PETERSON & KEVIN WALKER SHEPHERDSTOWN | 7.27.19

middletown, maryland, native jeni met kevin, originally from martinsburg , through a mutual friend in 2001. The pair dated for many years until finally deciding in March 2018 that the time was right for a wedding. The couple set their sights on a summer wedding to take place the following year and chose Wild Goose Farm in Shepherdstown as the backdrop for their special day. For her wedding, the bride wore a boho-style lace dress that was the dress of her dreams and that fit perfectly the first time she tried it on. Her maid of honor wore a peach maxi dress. The groom and his best man wore cobalt-colored blue suits. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father as a steelpan version of “Here Comes the Bride” played for the procession. The couple exchanged vows in a short, sweet ceremony officiated by the groom’s uncle. Jeni and Kevin are florists and knew that flowers would be a critical component of their wedding. They sourced flowers from three vendors and the bride’s own garden for the bouquets and arrangements. The floral theme was wild and whimsical with hues of peach, blue, and caramel. The couple hosted a strolling reception with drinks and finger foods including tacos and barbecue throughout the evening. Their four-tiered wedding cake carried over the boho and eclectic design of the affair and featured caramel and bourbon drizzle. Following their wedding, they settled into married life together in Shepherdstown, where they both work as event and wedding florists.
