Neighbour of Note: Corrina DiLella Cameron

Since she was very young, Corrina DiLella Cameron has been an observer of nature and a creator of things. “My mother was my first art teacher and nurtured that potential by teaching me to take what I observed about the world and apply it to art making. I find great enjoyment in that process, both the observing and the making. My husband and I love the Medway Forest and hike it regularly. It’s great to have an escape to nature so close by.” An interdisciplinary artist, Corrina chooses different mediums based on what will do the job best. “The artwork starts with an idea and then I match the medium to the concept. Since an idea could span over many artworks, it does make it feel like I’m going through a phase. Currently, I’m primarily working in oil painting and pottery.” Corrina’s formal art training took place at Lakehead University and York University, with a primary focus on painting and ceramics. “I graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University in 2010. Continuing art education has included classes at the London Clay Art Centre, The Arts Project, and Haliburton School of Art and Design.” A marketing coordinator and senior art teacher at a small private high school in London, Corrina enjoys creating safe spaces for students to discover their unique artistic voice and watch them take brave steps towards mastery. She says that as an artist, some important career highlights have been overcoming artist’s block, creating a studio in my basement, and recently being accepted into my first commercial gallery – Westland Gallery in Wortley Village. Long ago, Corrina decided that 10% of her profits would go to charity. “In 2024, I focused my donations towards World Central Kitchen who are providing meals for victims of natural disasters and war across the globe. Your investment in my art is also an investment in bettering our world!”

Corrina offers pottery, and original paintings in oil, acrylic, or watercolour. “As I create each piece, I think about how it will become part of someone’s life. My hope is that my work will bless you and your home for years to come,” she says. Complimentary home installation is available upon request.
