St. Jude Donation Continues To Grow

$ 1,050,001

$ 1,000,001 $ 1,000,001

We’re proud to support the good works of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as it builds on its mission to find cures and save the lives of children battling cancer. That’s why we’re excited to say that because of our special relationship through Averitt Cares for Kids, we recently donated a record amount of $1,500,001 to St. Jude! The contribution marks five consecutive years we’ve given at least $1 million to St. Jude, and it’s a total team effort. The milestone was made possible several different ways – first, the 95% of associates who are Averitt Cares for Kids members showed The Power of One dollar a week. On top of that, the company match continues to grow because of Team Up Community Challenge activities, as well as recognition of milestones, anniversaries and life events. In 2023, the total matching contribution was an incredible $1 million! “I’m humbled by the way our team comes together to help others, and our partnership with St. Jude is one of the most important ways we do that,” says GARY SASSER. “Donations like these provide life-saving care to children in need and I look forward to seeing how we can continue to build our special relationship with St. Jude in 2024 and the future.” Thank you to our Averitt Cares for Kids members who helped make this accomplishment possible! ROSY OUTLOOK IN TYLER NEW FACILITY COMING IN 2024

Because of our team’s growth there, we’re investing in a new facility that will put us in even better position for success. Slated to open in the late second quarter or early third, the service center will have more than 20,000 square feet, 40 dock doors (32 for cross-docking), 25 tractor parking spaces, 64 trailer parking spaces and 46 associate parking spaces. Associates will also have access to a driver room that features a kitchen area, ice machine, refrigerator, microwave and vending machines. The facility will be securely gated, and will have men’s and women’s bathrooms and showers to support our over-the-road associates. “The associates of Tyler have earned the investment that we’re making there,” says Region 6 Vice President CALVIN RACKLEY . “We outgrew the current building because of our team’s commitment to outstanding service, and we’ve seen positive trends that allow us to build for the future. It’s going to be a nice resource for us because it’s located on I-20, which runs between Birmingham and Dallas. It’s in a good location for us to support our Dedicated and Truckload drivers.” CONTINUED GROWTH Our latest investment in Tyler is part of what has been a long-term track record of growth. “In 2012 when we moved into our current facility, it didn’t take long before we had grown to a point where it was time to start looking for a new space,” says Tyler Service Center Director BRYAN WALTERS. “That’s thanks to the efforts of our entire Tyler team. This is a state-of-the-art facility that will provide our associates with the best possible amenities, and that puts us in position for an even brighter future.” Tyler, TX is a strategic market located halfway between Dallas and Shreveport, LA. Known as the “Rose City,” the outlook in Tyler is certainly rosy.

We anticipate opening our new Tyler facility during the second quarter or early third quarter.

MORE OPPORTUNITIES AROUND THE CORNER Bryan adds that a 412-acre industrial park is being developed directly across the street from the new facility, which should provide more opportunities for growth. “Our customers are excited and enthusiastic about our new service center,” Bryan says. “We are thrilled and motivated by the commitment and dedication from the entire Averitt network. With the support of our associates, we are confident in our ability to continue providing exceptional service and expanding our reach in East Texas.” We’re excited to see how the new facility helps us move freight In And Out Of The South. As with all the projects that are under way, it’s all about making sure we provide associates with the best-possible quality of life, and ensuring we’re ready for whatever opportunities come our way! LOOKING FOR THE LONG HAUL

Nashville Associate Active In People Like You Referrals

Chris has worked on the dock in the Music City for five years, and during that time he’s had at least three referrals hired to our team. “I’m more of a word-of-mouth person,” Chris says of his preferred referral tactic. “I want to talk to you, and I want to see where your head is at. Are you here for the long term or short term? If you’re here for the short term, I don’t want to waste my time.” Chris also looks for the type of teammate someone will be. “Even though it’s a good place to work, everybody can’t work here and fit in. I try to look for people who I believe will fit in and can handle it and won’t quit when it gets cold in the winter or hot in the summer.” When Chris finds someone who would make a good fit, he shares what his experience has been like. When Nashville dock associate CHRIS TURRENTINE refers People Like You to Averitt, he’s thinking about the future.

Nashville dock associate CHRIS TURRENTINE has had at least three of his referrals hired to Averitt during his five years of service.

“I tell them about the friendly environment that we have at Averitt,” he says. “You build relationships here. Even people who have worked here in the past, I still communicate with them and talk with them. It’s a fun environment for me to work in.” Thank you, Chris, for helping us secure our future by referring like-minded associates. Enjoy your referral rewards and Red Thinkin' Rewards points! Frontline Leaders Started On The Dock For leaders JONATHAN BUTTERWORTH and RICKY LAMBERT, "Promote from Within" is more than a catchphrase ... it's a reality. ‘A PLACE I COULD SEE MYSELF STAYING’ When Jonathan came to Averitt in late 2020, he wanted to be part of a team that provides associates the opportunity to grow. He came to the right place. After working on the dock in Birmingham for a little more than a year, Jonathan moved into the driver’s seat in a shuttle role in early 2022. Later that year, he transferred to city, where he stayed for about a year. And late last year, Jonathan was promoted to his current position as a frontline leader. “The keys to my growth have been motivation and hard work,” Jonathan explains. “Before I came to Averitt, I was always looking for a spot where I could stay. Nothing ever fit. Other companies weren’t willing to give me a chance to move up. So when I got to Averitt, I felt like this is a place I could see myself staying at.” Jonathan’s advice for other associates is simple – quality work gets noticed. “I would tell other associates to keep their heads down, be respectful and do your job,” he says. “You’ll be noticed, and everybody will see how you work. You don’t have to go around telling other people what you do. Just let your work show it for you.” ‘BEING COMMITTED IS IMPORTANT’ Ricky, a Greensboro preventive maintenance frontline leader, is an

Over 20 Team member who originally came to Averitt as a part-time dock associate. He went full time in preventive maintenance in 2003, and for about a decade he served as a lead technician before moving into his current role a few years ago. “Averitt is a really good company to work for,” Ricky says. “Averitt has taken care of me and my family for many years now. We have a good environment in Greensboro. I like working for Averitt. It’s what I’ve done for the last 20 years, and it’s what I hope to continue to do.” Regarding his career growth, Ricky says it’s all about consistency. “I’m not the type of person who’s a job hopper and I never was,” Ricky explains. “Being committed is important. Eventually you will be recognized. Just come in every day, do your job to the best of your ability and go home. That’s it. Just try to do your job and not everybody else’s.” Thank you, Jonathan and Ricky, for your efforts that have helped you take advantage of our commitment to promoting from within! And because of the HVAC and other equipment involved in the shipments, our commitment to excellence makes a difference. “Being on time and delivering damage-free is paramount for Johnson Controls and its customers,” Jeff says. Johnson Controls certainly seems to be pleased with the results.

“They touch almost all of our services,” explains Director of Corporate Business Development JEFF ADAMS. “The

main area that we work on with them is LTL. "And we've grown our relationship over the years to include more of our services to deliver a true Power of One provider experience."

“We’re a trusted partner of theirs, and we’ve grown year over year with them,” Jeff says of our partnership that spans close to a decade. The future looks bright for our partnership, and we’re in talks to make it even stronger. “We’ve handled some specific lanes for Truckload,” Jeff says. “But we want a deeper and broader opportunity to expand our Truckload services with Johnson Controls. DOCK BROTHERS BRING NEARLY 70 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE Building Brotherly Bonds For brothers ERIC and MIKE PRATT, life on the Knoxville dock has been the perfect career path for them. Each of them has been loading and unloading freight for nearly 35 years. Eric started his journey with our team in 1989 thanks to an Averitt associate at the time. “I had a friend who worked here who helped me get on, and here I am 35 years later,” says Eric. Once he learned about the strong community and culture at Averitt, Eric talked his brother into joining our team a year later. “Eric helped me get here. I was needing a change, and Eric told me to check out Averitt. I’ve been here ever since,” Mike recalls. These brothers are a prime example of the many types of careers available with our team. Whether it's staying behind the wheel or on the dock, or looking for an opportunity to move into leadership, there's truly something for everyone. Of course, having a tight bond with fellow associates is another plus.“It’s been great working with my brother,” says Mike. “I get to see him every day and help him out when he needs it, and he does the same for me. He is my

go-to guy.” Since starting at Averitt, the two brothers have gained personal advantages outside the service center as well. “Averitt has been great for me and my family. I raised four kids while working here. And anytime I needed anything, Averitt was right there for me,” Mike says. We’re thankful for Eric and Mike’s many years of service to our team. Mercedes Driver Cashes In Red Thinkin’ Rewards For NFL Game FAMILY FOOTBALL ROAD TRIP Alabama native and Dedicated associate JAMIE WHITLEY has long been a fan of the University of Alabama football team. Because of our Red Thinkin’ Rewards program, Jamie was recently able to see a few former Crimson Tide players when he cashed in on a pair of Tennessee Titans tickets, and he brought his son along for the trip to see their matchup against the Carolina Panthers. “My son is a big Titans fan, and he had mentioned a long time ago that he wanted to go to a game,” recalls Jamie, who has been a driver for our Mercedes team about 4 1/2 years. “We wanted to see Derrick Henry with the Titans. I saw they were playing the Carolina Panthers, and we were big fans of Bryce Young when he was at Alabama, so that was going to be the perfect game.” Jamie wasn’t sure what the ticket selection would be like, but he was very pleased with the outcome. “I was expecting you would need binoculars,” he says with a laugh. “But we were in the third section around the 30-yard line, and we had a lot better view than what I was expecting.” When you add the in-game musical performance by Lee Greenwood

– famed singer of “God Bless The USA” – Jamie was grateful for the opportunity afforded by Red Thinkin’ Rewards. “That was probably the best purchase or selection that I’ve gotten on there,” says Jamie, who has earned the majority of his points through safe driving and meeting efficiency goals. “All around it was great, being able to make it a family trip and not be just for me.” Red Thinkin’ Rewards is one way we say thank you for the outstanding job you do each day! The program has thousands of prizes you can cash in on. Want to see how you can use the points you’re earning? Log on to InsideAveritt.com/Rewards for more information.
