OVERNIGHT CAMP FAQS
Will I be in a room with my friends? Rooms are organized by age/grade and gender, from anywhere from 2-6 campers per dorm, depending on the room. When you and your parents fill out your forms, you’ll be able to name up to 3 campers that you want in your dorm room. We try our best to put you with at least 1 of your choices. All campers will likely be on the same floors and dorm room, so even if you are not with all your friends, they will be close by.
I’m a Goalkeeper. Will there be specific GK training? Yes! We will have specific goal keeper training every session for those that are training to play in goal.
Can I bring my electronics and cell phone? We have a strict no internet-enabled device policy since we really want you to be present at camp. Campers are not allowed to use their phone while at camp. Campers will turn in their phones (if brought) during check-in on the first day and receive their phone back on the last day at check-out. CAMPER QUESTIONS What time do we wake up? Everyone wakes up no later than 7:30 am, dresses for the day, tidies up their room, and arrives at breakfast at 8:00 am at the Great Hall.
What time do we go to bed? Bedtimes and lights out are at 10:00pm for all age groups.
How often can I talk to my parents? Unless there is an emergency, campers are not permitted to call their parents during their time away. The Director of Camps phone number will be provided to all registrants, so that parents can get ahold of their child in an emergency situation.
Can I bring food to camp? We provide all your meals, and we have snacks (e.g., whole fruit, granola bars, bread/toast), so outside food is not necessary and can also attract critters and insects if you bring them and store them in your room. As such, we don’t allow outside food in the dorms.
Will I have my own bathroom? You’ll share a bathroom with the other campers in your dorm room. All dorm rooms in Carter Hall have individual showers, as well as private bathrooms with toilets and sinks. All dorm rooms in Mac/Rymer and Founders have shared bathrooms between suites.
OVERNIGHT CAMP FAQS
How skilled are the campers at this overnight camp? All of our campers love soccer, but there are both Recreational and Competitive players that will attend this camp. However, they will be grouped according to their age and level of play, so that proper development is achieved. We will move players up or down group if we need to, in order to achieve this. My Child Lost Their Room Key or Caused Property Damage W e’ve updated our policy regarding room keys. No campers will receive a room key. Each floor’s Lead RA will have a master key and will lock/unlock all doors when campers are in the dormitory. If there is a specific need to open a room, the camper will be instructed to find their floor RAs. Do campers have free time to participate in non- soccer related activities? Yes! Campers have both Group Activity Time and Free Time during the full days. We will ask the campers each day during breakfast what non-soccer related activities they would like to participate in for that day’s Group Activity Time. Campers can participate in hiking, paintball (a small fee applies), soccer tennis, crafts, ultimate frisbee, nature walks, and more! They can, of course, also continue to play soccer if they wish. . My child has special dietary needs and/or food allergies. Will the camp accommodate for these needs? Yes! Covenant College and the Great Hall work very hard to provide food that caters to all needs and restrictions. View more information on what is available and what our dining experience will be.
What medical staff works at the camp, and what facilities are nearby? What if my child takes medication? We have a combination of Directors and Staff that will take care of minor injuries and who are qualified to do so. If we have any emergency situations that require more immediate and urgent care, the Directors and Staff will utilize either CHI Memorial Hospital, Parkridge Medical Center, or Erlanger Medical Center, the three closest facilities to Covenant College. If your child takes medication, please note that and all pertinent details during registration. I’m interested in sending my child to camp, but we don’t do overnights/sleepovers. Is there a Day Camp option? Yes! Players are more than welcome to make the commute to and from each day of camp if they are not staying overnight. The cost for a Day Camper is $425. Please email our Director of Camps before registering. Day Camper’s schedule is below: Wednesday, July 23: 2:30pm-5pm (Lunch and Dinner provided) Thursday, July 24: 9am-5pm (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner provided) Friday, July 25: 9am-5pm (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner provided) Saturday, July 26: 9am-11am (no meals provided)

What are the transportation options to/from camp? For the 2025 season, you can drive your child to/from camp, or they can fly into the Chattanooga Airport. Carpooling is always a popular option, and please reach out to us if you need additional assistance .
My child is a Goalkeeper. Will there be specific GK training? Yes! We will have specific goal keeper training every session for those that are training to play in goal.
We signed up for the July 23-26, but the July 9-12 dates actually work better. Can we transfer to those dates? As long as there are open spots (150 max) available, transferring is no problem and will not incur any fees. Just make sure that any roommates or friends that signed up with you are alerted.
Who are the coaches/counselors that will be with my child(ren) during camp? All the camp staff and brief information about them will be sent out in our Parent Packet for you to look over to get to know your camper’s counselor(s). Parents are not given contact information for the coaches, but are given contact information for the administration, in case you need to ask a question about their specific coaches or group.
Can parents visit campus during camp days? Some parents will be staying in the Chattanooga area during camp days, so that they don’t have to drive back and forth, which is completely fine! And parents are welcome to visit Covenant’s campus, stopping in to The Tuck Shoppe or The Great Hall, while their camper(s) are participating in camp. However, we do not permit parent or family visits with campers during camp days.
OVERNIGHT CAMP FAQS
PARENT QUESTIONS When will I receive my Parent Packet with important camp details? Well before the start of your camp (at least 3 weeks), you will receive an information packet which will include all the important details about camp: directions to camp, when to arrive, what to pack/ bring, camp address (for mail) and key camp phone numbers, what dorm room and roommates you are assigned to, etc. Are the campers supervised throughout the camp? Yes, campers are supervised by the coaches and staff. Staff members reside in the same dorms (not rooms, unless it’s a parent of a camper) as the campers and provide supervision during instruction, dining times, evening activities, and in the dorm. All staff members complete criminal and sex offender background checks before working the camp.
How do we know what group of players are child will be training with during the on-field sessions? Our Parent Packet will have all roster information for the group that your child will be training with. We are also likely going to have that available within your PlayMetrics account (stay tuned on that!)
How do we know what room and which roommates my child has been assigned to? Our Parent Packet will have all dorm room information for the group that your child will be rooming with. We are also likely going to have that available within your PlayMetrics account (stay tuned on that!)
What is the process for check-in? All parents will receive detailed information about check-in, starting in April. In a nut shell, we will utilize a “drive-thru” check-in style approach, to limit long lines, liabilities, and increase efficiency. More details will be forthcoming in your Parent Packout and parent emails.
