Aspirating Smoke Detection (ASD) The Cerberus PRO FDA241 offers exceptional performance where high sensitivity (Class A) detection is required. A common application for such detection is within data centres or where other high value assets are present. These devices allow for exceptionally fast detection (the unit can be programmed to detect with a sensitivity 100 times greater than a typical point type detector). ASD’s can also be used to replace point type detectors at standard sensitivity (Class C) where access for maintenance or discrete aesthetics is an issue. Flame Detection Some fires produce very little initial smoke and develop almost instantly into dangerous flaming fires. In such circumstances flame detection offers the fastest possible detection. The Cerberus PRO FDF241 is a triple channel Infra-Red flame detector that respond quickly to such fires while providing excellent false alarm free reliability. Hazardous Area Fire Detection (Ex) Areas liable to the build-up of dangerous dust and gases that could lead to explosion require hazardous area devices to be installed throughout. These devices must be approved to work in such environments without the possibility of providing an ignition source. The products are either completely sealed so that their internal components cannot be exposed to the explosive atmosphere or intrinsically safe so that they cannot provide sufficient energy for ignition. Linear (Beam Type) Smoke Detection Installation and maintenance of point type smoke detectors on high ceilings or in large open spaces can present problems of cost and accessibility. The Cerberus PRO FDL241 linear smoke detector can provide detection up to 100m in length. This product is loop powered and addressable, so no additional power supplies or interface modules are required. In addition, the FDL241 utilizes a reflector at the far end of the detected space so cabling is only required at one end.
