Fun Facts!
Leaves Change Color: Leaves turn red, orange, and yellow in fall because chlorophyll breaks down, revealing hidden pigments. Apple Season: Fall is apple harvest season, which is why apple cider and baked apples are classic autumn treats. Fall Animals: Many animals prepare for winter during autumn—squirrels gather nuts, birds migrate, and bears fatten up. Harvest Moon: The full moon closest to the autumnal equinox is called the Harvest Moon, historically helping farmers harvest crops at night. Football Season: In the U.S., fall is synonymous with college and NFL football, making it a cultural staple. Crisp Air: Fall air feels fresher because cooler temperatures slow the growth of bacteria and pollen. Migrating Birds: Many bird species fly south in fall to find warmer climates for the winter. Crisp Leaves: Maple trees often produce the brightest red and orange leaves in fall.
