Thinking Matters 2017

Middle School pupils are involved with the National Theatre New Views writing project, where boys work closely with a professional writer from the National Theatre to develop their own 30 play. Boys engage in lively debate and analysis of literary form and are also invited to see productions at the National Theatre to discuss plot, character and different actor-audience relationships. Boys also get the opportunity to attend the Ardingly College residential course where they are exposed to leading theatre companies and practitioners with whom they directly engage, including Punchdrunk, Frantic Assembly and the NYT. ‘New Views was a wonderful experience. The process, despite its challenges, has been thoroughly enjoyable and exciting.’ Max Parfitt, Year 10

‘Fittingly for a school founded by the leading actor of his generation, drama is flourishing at Dulwich and I feel privileged to be part of this exciting new wave of talent, looking to push creative boundaries to the limit in order to create innovative and thrilling performance work that dazzles.’ Hamish Lloyd Barnes, OA (2009-16)

The standard of work is exceptional; boys are assiduous in their endeavours and there is healthy rivalry for cups and prizes.
