W E s h o u l d LIKE to have family devotions in our home, but how do we start?” a young married man asked. He had recently become a Christian and the home in which he had been brought up never gave a thought to spiritual mat­ ters. One great difficulty always comes before us when we want to start a family altar. It is, how can we find time for it? Life becomes more and more busy for us all. Business demands are in­ creasing. Yet we must find time for daily worship. It becomes a question of priorities. We meet together and go over the schedules of each member of the family to see what can be omitted with least loss to that person. Then we fix a daily time for it. Having our united devotions at the breakfast table has much in its favor. We have then rested and our minds are fresh. The difficulties and trials of the day are still before us. As we go about our daily duties we are reminded that we have committed one another 21
