But say—it’s getting late and I told Mom I wouldn’t be gone very long so I’d better go home now.” As they wa l ked back toward Randy’s house, Randy exclaimed, “ That’s not such a bad house after all, is it? And you know what, I’m not mad at my family any more.”
“ First of all, you have to believe that you have sinned or done bad things, ’cause God said, ‘All have sinned.’ Also, you must believe that the Lord Jesus, God’s Son, died on the cross to take the punishment for sin that you deserved. Then invite the Lord Jesus to come into your heart to take away all your sins and give you everlasting life. Wouldn’t you like to do this, Randy?” “Yes I would and right now,” Randy answered eagerly.

Turning in his front gate, he said, “Ummm, smells like we’re going to have a super Thanksgiving dinner. ’Bye, Kirk.” “ Bye, Randy, see you later,” Kirk answered. Pausing a moment on the front porch, Randy called after Kirk, “What did you say that verse was that you memorized this morning-” “ ‘In everything g i ve thanks’,” Kirk shouted over his shoulder as he hurried toward home.
Together the boys bowed their heads and Randy thanked the Lord Jesus for loving him enough to die on the cross for him, and then in vited Him to come into his heart. Looking up with a grin, Randy said, “You know, I do have some thing to be thankful for after all.
