RUN TO REMEMBER Every April the community comes together for the OKC Memorial Marathon . Named as one of the “must-run marathons” by Runner’s World magazine, this multi-day event is a celebration of life that unites people from around the world. Last year’s race set the record with over 26,000 participants. The course starts and ends in downtown Oklahoma City, weaving through
several neighborhoods as spectators cheer on every runner. Official cheer zones include Gorilla Hill — a landmark location between mile 6 and 7 that features a 50-foot inflatable gorilla — and Classen Boulevard around mile 20 where runners need an extra boost. The streets of Oklahoma City are alive with runners and spectators, unified by the Oklahoma Standard.
