Oklahoma City’s vibrant live music scene is fueled by its rich musical history, rooted in rhythm and blues. As the state’s largest city and capital, OKC attracts major touring artists while still celebrating its musical roots, offering everything from top 50 artist concerts to intimate performances at local dive bars. Opened in 1937, the historic Tower Theatre is one of Oklahoma City’s last original movie houses, known for its intact auditorium and neon marquee. After closing in 1989, it reopened in 2017 as a live music, movie and event venue in the Uptown 23rd district. With seating for over 1,100, it hosts an eclectic range of artists across various music genres.
