2026 Official Oklahoma City Visitors Guide

ASIA AKAI Sushi. Located in the Wheeler District just south of downtown, this gorgeous restaurant was a hot spot from the day it opened. The decor is stunning, as is the food. A combination of classic rolls, modern Japanese cuisine and a phenomenal bar program, Akai is elevated Japanese dining. BAR SEN. The second Lao spot from James Beard finalist Chef Jeff Chanchaleune, Bar Sen is noodle bowls, fried chicken and brilliant cocktails. The glass noodle salad is the rock star of the restaurant, but so is the fried chicken. Formosa Street Food & Bar. Owner Ivan Wong changed his focus from Szechuan cuisine to his native Taiwanese, the first of its kind in OKC, when he opened Formosa. The beef noodle bowl and the spicy cold noodles are two of the best noodle bowls in the city. He also features wings, sizzling fish, basil popcorn chicken and dumplings, among other traditional favorites. Jamil’s Steakhouse. One of the few remaining Lebanese steakhouses in Oklahoma is located on Lincoln Blvd., just a couple miles north of the Capitol. Yes, you can get steaks, but they also serve smoked bologna, ribs, tabouli, hummus and cabbage rolls. They celebrated 60 years last year, making them an institution and an icon.

My Place Sip & Savor. Our newest Thai spot is also one of our best, but if you’re a late-night eater, find the Mob Thai’d truck. My Place is traditional Thai in an elevated style and lovely surroundings. The khao soi noodles and wagyu dishes are the must-haves, but the larb, pad thai and cocktails are all excellent. Rivière Modern Banh Mi. You can find several great pho joints in the Asian District, like Pho Cuong and VII Asian Bistro, but this Midtown spot has modern Vietnamese and what might be the only small-batch pho remaining in the metro. It checks all the boxes, plus a full bar, and the rotating specials are often the best reason to go. Sheesh Mahal. Most locals treat it like an Indian spot, and they do have some crossover, but the nihari on the menu is the giveaway that it’s a Pakistani restaurant. Everything they do is excellent, and the green masala butter chicken is one of the best things in OKC. ZamZam Mediterranean Grill. More Palestinian than Mediterranean, the Auto Alley location serves delicious Levantine specialties like shawarma, beef arayes, stuffed falafel and fattoush. They also serve some of the only grilled wings in the city.
