Greenland: Sled Traffic, Seriously Forget freeways! Greenland is a kingdom of glaciers where cars can’t always connect towns. Instead, dog sleds rule. That’s why you’ll see red-triangle signs with a sled silhouette, reminding you that man’s best friend is also man’s best transport. Iceland: Next Exit, Hot Tub Only in Iceland will you see a road sign telling you where to soak. The blue-and-white icon of a head bobbing in water with a thermometer means a hot tub is near. Pair that with pretzel-shaped bakery signs and snorkel-wearing stick figures; suddenly, even stop-and-go traffic feels like a scavenger hunt. Newfoundland: The Moose Means Business Most moose crossing signs just show the animal. But in Gros Morne National Park, Canada, the moose has backup: a mangled car beside it. It’s a graphic reminder that when a one-ton moose meets your bumper, the moose usually wins.
