Taking care of your bedding
Every night, your mattress absorbs anywhere between 50cl and 1 litre of perspiration on average, but it’s the one item of bedding you
can’t just pop in the washing machine! Here are our top tips to help your mattress last as long as possible, reduce the risks of allergies and get rid of stubborn stains.

minutes or so before making the bed. It’s also a good idea to run a vacuum cleaner over the mattress at least once a month to discourage parasites and insects from taking up residence there. Sheets and pillowcases should be changed once every ten days to two weeks, too. After washing, make sure you give bedlinen plenty of time to dry, if possible in the open air, before reuse. Pillow and duvet care Pillows should be washed once or twice a year, while duvets can washed every 12 to 24 month. This prevents the mattress from sagging and going out of shape, and helps provide good support throughout the year. Air and change your sheets Mattresses attract dust and dirt just like any other furnishing, and if they aren’t taken care of properly, they can become home to dust mites and pollen. To stay healthy, bedding needs to be fresh and regularly aired. Open your bedroom window every morning when you wake up to help give it a good airing and get rid of dust that may have built up overnight, and then let the mattress breathe for twenty
