WORK OF THE DEPARTMENT The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is staffed by 3 senior lecturers, 5 lecturers and 8 associate lecturers with 28 associated lecturers spread at 6 off site hospitals. All are involved in clinical teaching, specialist clinical services and research. The clinical areas are general obstetrics and gynaecology and special- ist service in Maternal- Fetal Medicine, Gynaecological Oncology and Fertility Management/Assisted Reproduction, and Urogynaecology. The department offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses and have two Fellowship Programmes in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) and Gynaecological Oncology in association with the International Gynecologic Cancer Society. Members of the Department are involved in teaching and learning in the under- graduate MBBS programme during years 3, 4 and 5, and the post graduate Doctor of Medicine (DM) programme in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Fellowship programs. Currently there are 58 post graduate students enrolled in the 4.5 year DM in Obstetrics and Gynaecology programme. There are no fellows in the programs but the application port will be open in December and enrolment is expected in the 2024 academic year. Two Fellows graduated from the Gyn. Onc. Fellowship Programme in 2023. There are two (2) secretaries, One (1) Senior Medical Technologist and two (2) laboratory attendants in the department.

STUDENTS (UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE) Students returned to face to face teaching fully. The Clerkships/rotations were shortened with junior students rotating for four instead of five weeks and senior
