OUTREACH ACTIVITIES Departmental outreach activities included participation in the St. Andrew High School for Girls Science Week Expo, partnership with the AZ Preston Hall Sec- ond Year Experience Programme in its “Dare to Care” food drive and hosting of the Portmore Gospel Academy Preparatory School, wherein students conducted chemistry experiments as part of their curriculum. The ACS Jamaica Student Chapter visited the Alligator Head Foundation in Portland, hosted a guest lecture delivered by Professor Melvin Pascall (Ohio State University), and were instrumental in hosting a group of 5 th Form students visiting from the Buff Bay High School, introducing them to basic chemistry concepts and green chemistry.

STUDENT AWARDS Scholarship and prizes in recognition of undergraduate students’ performance in the 2021/2022 examination were awarded at the annual Faculty of Science and Technology Awards Ceremony, as follows: Jordan Collins (The Cedric Hassall Scholarship), Mikayla Miles (The Kenneth Magnus Prize), Jamilia Morgan (The Food Chemistry Prize), Lauren-Ashley Golding (The Garfield Sadler Award), Ruth-Ann Powell (The Wilfred Chan Award), Stephannie Forbes (The Leonard J. Haynes Award), Catherine Douse (The Pavelich/Honkan Prize), and Kyanna Woodhouse (The Chemistry Department Prize). STUDENT ENROLMENT Student enrolment for the AY 2022/2023 was as follows: Preliminary (100), Intro- ductory (420), Advanced (190), Postgraduate (Research – 26, MSc – 22).
