DEAN’S OVERVIEW
Memorandum of Understanding A Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Cape Coast, Ghana and the Department of Sociology, Psychology and Social Work was signed to promote staff exchanges and academic collaboration. CONCLUSION Faculty members exhibited tremendous resilience over the two and a half years of virtual operations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, in spite of their own personal challenges and the required COVID-19 mitigation protocols. Return- ing to face-to-face operations was therefore with cautious optimism. The Faculty pre- pared its Strategic Plan in alignment with the new UWI 2022–2027 Strategic Plan, continued to provide outstanding teaching and learning, continued to pub- lish, engage in thought leadership, public service and advocacy. The Faculty also exhibited great strength in its ability to manage the changes brought about by staff movements – new Dean, new Director of the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute for Social and Economic Studies, Mona, new Head of Department for Sociology, Psychology and Social Work, and the secondment of the Professor of Tourism to the Caribbean Maritime University (CMU) to serve as President. The Faculty extends gratitude to those who demitted office, including Professor David Tennant, former Dean; Dr Orville Taylor, former Head, Department of Sociology, Psychology and Social Work; Professor Aldrie Henry-Lee, former University Director and Mona Campus Director, Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES); and Professor Andrew Spencer, former Deputy Executive Director of the Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM).
