• UNDP Spotlight Initiative Project: Legislative Reform to Eliminate Violence against Women and Girls and Family Violence in Jamaica: The IGDS part- nered with Eve for Life on this project which was conducted in Jamaica from January – July 2023. The project sought to build awareness and strengthen the capacity of civil society partners in their advocacy for reform of national laws and policies on violence against women and girls (VAWG) and family violence (FV), particularly the Sexual Harassment Act and the Domestic Violence Act. Deliverables from the project included: ■ Five Capacity building and training workshops on the Sexual Harassment and the Domestic Violence Acts with representatives from CSOs including rural women, people living with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ community, men and boys from ‘hot spot’ parishes. Workshops were held in St Thomas (April 21); Clarendon (April 25); Westmoreland (May 9), LGBTQI persons (May 11); and Persons with Disabilities in Kingston (May 17); ii) Development of training manual to support CSOs training and advocacy on legislation to eliminate VAWG and FV; iii) Legislative review and gender analysis of the Domestic Violence and Sexual Harassment Laws; iv) Public aware- ness campaign which included design and preparation of brochures and braille booklets, to share the contents of both legislations, and advocate for legal reform to increase protection for women and girls; v) publication of a training manual; vi) implementation of the national media campaign; and vii) preparation of a final technical report. The project lead was Dr Natasha Mortley. • UNDP Spotlight Initiative Caribbean Regional Programme: Strengthening Regional Cooperation to prevent and respond to family violence in the Carib- bean Project : The aim of the project was to conduct training with the staff of Gender Bureaus in seven Caribbean countries (Grenada, St Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Jamaica, Belize and Haiti). Other deliverables from the project included: the Inception and the Preliminary Pre-Assessment Training Needs Reports, a survey instrument, the Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Initiatives guide, training material and a final report. The project was conducted between October 2021–August 2022. The principal investigator was Professor Paula Morgan. • The US Public Diplomacy Small Grants Project The project involved implemen- tation of a dialogic island-wide performance-exhibition education campaign. It was conducted from October 2021 to August 2022, with deliverables including scripting, storyboard, and audio-visual recording of a catalyst video. Viewing of the catalyst video, and response documentary, were held on December 8, 2022, in collaboration with the US Embassy. The project was led by Dr. Imani Tafari-Ama.
