Staff Growth and Engagement – to identify, promote and support training and development • Professional Staff leadership training attended by 2 staff members – Harvard Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians; 2023 Mortenson Associates Professional Development and Leadership Program. • Targeted skills training, e.g. Transforming the service culture; Research Strat- egies • Restructuring Project – 8 positions upgraded; 3 staff promoted; 1 job shadowing assignment; 12 temporary appointments • Mentorship – Committee re-launched; 2 seminars held; book chapter proposal submitted • Customer Service awards • Increments for upgraded education WORK OF THE DEPARTMENT 2022/2023 This report presents the activities of the UWI, Mona Library for the period, August 1, 2022 to July 31, 2023, towards the implementation of the 2022–2027 Triple A: Strategic Plan: Revenue Revolution’. In this strategic planning cycle The UWI con- tinues its focus on widening Access to quality tertiary education, Alignment of the University with academic-industry partnerships relevant to the region’s needs, and improved Agility through global connections and initiatives while leveraging this prestigious reputation to generate profitable revenue for the University.

INITIATIVES TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF TEACHING, LEARNING AND STUDENT DEVELOPMENT – AC1

Information Literacy Sessions to Improve Research Skills: Foundation and Subject Courses The Mona Library continued its significant contribution to the Campus’ teaching and learning programmes and delivered a total of one hundred and ninety two (192) Information Literacy (IL) sessions to both undergraduate and postgraduates, with three thousand seven hundred and thirty eight (3738) students participat- ing. Customized sessions were requested from various academic departments for Research Methods classes, UWIlinC Training, EndNote, Citation Style such as APA 7 th edition, and other IL sessions.
