Research Consultations; Systematic Reviews: Foundation of Faculty Research
The Mona Library offered research consultation services including systematic reviews, verification of publications of incoming faculty, as well as faculty members being considered for promotion by checking publications on CVs; as well as journal and publisher verification for the avoidance of predatory journals and publishers. LibGuides Seven (7) new LibGuides were created, and twelve (12) were updated and uploaded during the period. Subject areas covered include, Community Health and Psychia- try, Dentistry, ‘Books you should read in 2023’, UWI Mona Honorary Graduands, Citations, and WISC Newspapers. Thesis Scrutiny and Consultation The Library continued its partnership with the Office of Graduate Studies and Research to support graduate students and the research process of the University through the Library’s thesis scrutiny and consultation service in which 119 the- ses were reviewed, and consultations were held for 44 theses. In the new hybrid teaching delivery mode 15 thesis consultation sessions were conducted via Zoom. Thesis certificates for 41 compliant theses were issued to the Office of Graduate Studies and Research for students who had completed the Library Review and were ready for final submission. A Thesis Consultation Checklist was created to provide guidance to graduate students with formatting their theses.
